METALLICA Interviewed For 'San Francisco Symphony At 100' Documentary
September 16, 2011METALLICA was interviewed for the documentary film "San Francisco Symphony At 100", which will air tonight (Friday, September 16) at 9 p.m. on Northern California's KQED TV. This colorful film tells the story of how a handful of civic-minded music lovers helped rebuild and revitalize one of the most beloved cities in the world following the earthquake and fire of 1906 by creating an orchestra for all the people. Learn how this vision has become part of the fabric of San Francisco, and continues to expand the musical landscape everywhere. Narrated by author Amy Tan, a longtime friend and fan of the Symphony.

METALLICA collaborated with the San Francisco Symphony on "S&M", a musical project which was performed in April 1999 at The Berkeley Community Theatre. Grammy and Oscar-winning composer and arranger Michael Kamen was also involved in the project.
The San Francisco Symphony had previously collaborated with members of another legendary San Francisco rock band, THE GRATEFUL DEAD.
